Nematodes for Japanese beetle grubs
This treats the grubs in the lawn, not the beetles on the roses. Adults fly in from a distance, so a treated lawn does not protect nearby plants. Koppert and BASF both list Japanese beetle grubs on the label. In laboratory work at Rutgers, its efficacy did not drop between larval stages of this species, unlike Oriental beetle. Field results are inconsistent. In Italian nursery trials, applying it shortly before the adult flight worked better than treating grubs already in the pots.
