Leafminer parasitoid (Diglyphus) for leafminer

Diglyphus isaea · leafminer parasitoid
Against leafminer

Diglyphus stings Liriomyza larvae inside their mines and also host-feeds, so a working release shows within about two weeks as short mines ending in dead larvae. UC IPM says it works in greenhouses and shade structures that are screened to keep parasites in and new flies out. The 0.25–3 /m² rate is Koppert's greenhouse figure; for outdoor use Arbico gives 500–1,000 per acre every 2 weeks, 2–3 releases. Broad-spectrum sprays for other pests commonly trigger leafminer outbreaks.

Rate0.25–3 /m² per release, weekly, at least 3 releases

TemperatureActive from 59 °F (15 °C); most effective at 59–77 °F (15–25 °C) per Koppert, 77 °F and warmer per Arbico
