In a lab comparison of 12 aphid species, Aphelinus abdominalis accepted and stung melon aphid so rarely that its development in it could not even be measured. Koppert sells it for potato and foxglove aphid, not melon aphid. Aphidius colemani is the wasp sold for melon aphid, and it has held the aphid as well as imidacloprid in a greenhouse trial.
